I met my husband about 6 years ago and we got pregnant about a year into our relationship. He is 4 now and such an amazing kid! We have been struggling to have a successful pregnancy for 2 years now, with 4 miscarriages all in the first tri-mester

What does it all mean??

TTC= trying to conceive

BBT= basal body temperature

HPT= home pregnancy test

OPK= ovulation predictor kit

BFP= big fat positive (what we want!)

BFN= big fat negative (what we loathe...)




What's been going on?

Dec 2004: Met Derek at a friends birthday dinner (and didn't like him lol!)

Feb 2006: Conceived Owen by surprise

Sept 22, 2006: Derek and I got married

Nov 6, 2006: Owen was born!

Nov 2008: Decide to TTC for #2

Jan 2009: Longest cycle ever, take HPT and got a BFP. Go to dr and find out we're mid miscarriage

May 2009: BFP!

June 2009: Go to DR for first OB appointment to find no heartbeat, off to hospital for D&C. Told to wait 3 months before TTC again

Dec 2009: BFP and one week later start bleeding, miscarriage #3

Jan 2010: Go in to see DR, check blood and all organs working well, and ovulating well.

April 2010: Another BFP. About a week later start bleeding again, miscarriage #4.

May 2010: Talk to my DR, has me wait 6 months before TTC again.

Sept 2010: Go to follow up with DR, has me start taking prenatal vitamins, baby asprin and progesterone 48 hours after ovulation (to take until my cycle starts, or reach 13 weeks in a pregnancy)

March 7th 2011: BFP!!!!! (over the next few days I ended up taking 4 tests to be for sure positive)

April 4th 2011: First OB appointment... saw lil baby on ultrasound and STRONG heartbeat of 175 bpm.

June 27th 2011: Second ultrasound, we're having a lil boy!

Slowly, but surely.

I'm down another 2.2, which puts my WW total to 7.2 pounds gone. No, it's not coming off as fast as I'd like, but it's coming off. I would like to close my eyes and have it all be gone, that's not gonna happen though! I've made it to the gym consistently and have upped my cardio. I'm now doing 60 minutes on the elliptical, and 45 of running (alternating days of cours). My mom and sister both have said they can see me getting slimmer already, which is great to know that when the scale barely budges, I'm still losing inches. In fact, I'm now down 7.75 inches! I love that! 3 inches from just my waist... I have had a little set bak though. As a reward for Owen being good, I took him to The Rock for lunch. I should've known better than to eat their pizza, but I did it anyways. So, this morning I woke up to go to the gym, and I was up 2.9 pounds!!! Not happy at all. After my work out, I had dropped .8 of that, but now I feel like I'm back peddling. NO MORE ROCK PIZZA!!! It's like it's made of lead or something...

Up with the birds

This week I lost another 1.4 pounds, putting my Weight Watchers total to 5 pounds! 5.9 from when I started 5 weeks ago. Yes I wish it were more, but I had a few snafoos along the way. I have really committed myself to the program and working out. My buns have been at the gym at 5:30 4 days a week! This time is working out because I don't have to worry about a babysitter, since everyone is still asleep. Even though, I'm NOT a morning person, I've decided to get up even earlier and get to the gym at 5 am. This is so I can get an hour of cardio in with my workouts. My body is so used to the typical 30 minutes weight training and 30 minutes of cardio. I didn't get much sleep Monday night and didn't get to the gym Tuesday morning, so I went Tuesday night... At 9:30. I got 55 minutes on the elliptical, which I don't think I've ever done. And this morning (running day!) I set my iPod to 45 minutes. I can't believe I did it... It's just been so long since I've ran regularly and I did it! 4.5 miles :) I'm going to have to get to bed even earlier cause I'm beat!

Up to date

Well, I've officially sucked at doing this weight loss update lol. I am still only down 5.8 pounds, but I switched things up a bit, and Derek being home for a week really screwed me up. I rejoined weight watchers and have being doing great on it. I lost 3.6 pounds last week! I have to keep reminding myself that this will not happen overnight and I need to work hard for it.

As for the gym. I have started going at 5:30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday's I have my Weight Watchers meeting. The weekends are kinda up in the air as to when and if I go. I worked the JBF sale last weekend and this weekend is Easter. When I went down to Orting to pick up my boys, I ran. It felt so good to not be on a treadmill! Gorgeous weather and scenery. I did my 5k in about 29:30... Pretty good if I do say so. I've got the itch to get back in shape and I'm not going to let anything stop me.
